Male Makeup Tips
Markus | Posted 10/28/2009
I have been to London recently and I decided to stop by at one of the high-class shopping malls to buy some male makeup. While shopping around, I noticed that I was the only male customer in the makeup department, which made it easy to flirt with the ladies there. But that should not be the topic of todays blog, where I want to talk about how makeup can be used successfully in making you more attractive.
Many men believe makeup is just for gays and weirdos. Actually many gay men are adored by women for their beauty just BECAUSE they know how to dress and to apply makeup. Too bad they are not available to them. You can be!
In principle, what it comes down to is to keep it simple and stay under the radar. No one must ever notice that you applied makeup, otherwise you WILL look like a weirdo.
One of the basics is skin care. Men should always take good care of their scalp, especially when over 20. Your face is the first thing a woman notices when you talk to her (besides your hands!), so you want to give a perfect first impression. Use a good moisturizer and eye cream in the morning and evening to keep your skin soft and fresh. A daily cleansing routine should help you stay free of blackheads and other irritations, so I recommend to use a facial scrub or face wash first to clean skin pores of oil and debris. Afterwards, use toner to close the pores and make your skin look strong and vibrant. Now you are ready to use the moisturizer.

Now comes the paint job. Just kidding. Your basic makeup kit should contain lip balm, concealer and maybe an eyeliner. Use the concealer first to conceal irritations, blisters and other red spots in your face, such as those typically present around the edges of the nose or around the eye, if you are wearing glasses. Apply little concealer and then brush it off in circles using only two fingers. The edges should blend into your normal skin tone.
Use concealer around your eyes, starting with a line just below your eyes, brushing it with your index finger, and going around the eye. The skin at the outer edge of your eyes gets red easily, so apply some concealer here too. At the end, apply a thin layer of concealer on the side of your index finger and distribute a fine layer across your face. This will avoid oily spots to form as it keeps your face dry and makes a smooth look.
If you want, you can then put a fine line of eyeliner below your lower eyelids. Be sure to buy a decent one in the color of your hair, and to apply only as little as possible. No one should be able to spot you have been using eyeliner.
Don't forget to cleanse your face with soap and water when you return home, before going to bed, unless you want dirty pillows and irritated skin in the morning. Apply a soft moisturizer after cleansing, and you're prepared for a good nights sleep!
